No Land Quite Like It…

For Harry Style’s last and lead single for his highly anticipated sophomore album Fine Line, which is set to be released on December 13th, titled “Adore You”, him and his team went all out for the promo around it.

It started with someone getting an ad to visit an island that doesn’t exist, it’s name being Eroda. It even had it’s own website! Someone on “stan” twitter came up with a conspiracy that it was somehow linked to Harry, and they turned out to be right. Although, that wasn’t revealed until much later when Harry was getting ready to release “Adore You”.

Eroda(which is ‘Adore’ backwards) is a fictional island created by Harry and his team, and it’s the island that is the setting of his music video for “Adore You” which was released last Friday on December 6th(I really recommend watching it!). The story tells of a young boy who has been an outcast since birth, befriending a fish and eventually finding solice in his life after a troubled upbringing. In Harry’s words from a recent interview the fish might represent a person. Everything surrounding this project was so creative and well thought out, it’s completely different than anything anyone has ever done before. The use of his creative drew in a lot of people who weren’t already locked into the trance of being a die- hard Harry Styles fan.

And did I mention that the song is great? It’s funky and filled with soft backup vocals by Styles behind a beautiful and catchy chorus. Harry uses many metaphors stating whomever he is speaking to in the song has a “strawberry lipstick state of mind” who resides in a “rainbow paradise”. While screaming along with Harry singing “Just let me adore you/ Like it’s the only thing I’ll ever do” in a sort of euphoric state, you’ll want nothing but to just repeat it as soon as it’s over, listening to it all day long and again the next.

At the rate Harry is going, I couldn’t be more excited for the album. Stream Fine Line when it’s released this Friday, December 13th!
